JAPAN OVERSEAS LEARNING

We went for a study trip to Japan, namely Hida-Furukawa and Tokyo. In Hida, we learnt various Japanese woodworking techniques native to the area, known as Kumiki joinery. We studied the architecture in the area, as well as visiting a well-known logging factory. In Tokyo, we explored the area and studied modern buildings made by famous Japanese architects like Kengo Kuma and Tadao Ando.
